Two adorable desert burrowing owls cuddle on top of a Paolo Verde branch! These little guys live throughout the Sonoran desert, but can be hard to spot in nature. I've had the pleasure of seeing them in person at the Wild at Heart bird sanctuary in Phoenix. They are often relocated due to construction and have to be held at the sanctuary for about 3 weeks so they forget where their original home was. If they're released any sooner, they will just return to the construction site!
